Want to keep the rain and snow off while you BBQ? Consider a gazebo.
Pergolas are constructed using several layers of lumber laid in a crosshatch pattern to cut down on direct sunlight underneath. Fabric shades can be added to help keep the rain off, but it is not as weatherproof as a gazebo.
Gazebos are the most popular because they provide protection from sun, rain & snow. Venetian blinds or ornamental panels can be added to the sides to add even more protection. Lights, fans and electrical outlets can be added, too.
